As a doula, I support pregnant women and families in Haarlem and across much of the surrounding region — from close by to further afield. Below you’ll find an overview of the places where I work. Each place has its own page with local care options, postpartum care, hospital parking and information for (expecting) parents.

Where I work at a glance
Doula in Amsterdam
I lived in Amsterdam for years myself, so I know the city like the back of my hand. My service area extends into the capital, which has the most care locations in the region. A fun fact: two of the delivery rooms at Amstelland hospital are officially on Amsterdam territory.

Doula in Utrecht
The city where I was born myself — at the Diakonessenhuis hospital, which, remarkably, is still standing! Utrecht lies comfortably within my service area and serves as a hub for the surrounding region.

Doula in Leiden
Leiden is about 27 kilometres from Haarlem and, with Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), is an important hub for both specialist care and carefree births.

Doula in Alkmaar
Alkmaar is only a 25-minute drive from Haarlem, so I’m there in no time.

Doula in Hoofddorp & Haarlemmermeer
Hoofddorp is close to Haarlem, just 9.5 km away. Hospital births usually take place at Spaarne Gasthuis, which has a location in Hoofddorp itself, as well as alternative options in Haarlem (Zuid location) and surrounding towns.

Doula in Beverwijk
Beverwijk is about 11 kilometres from Haarlem and has a full-fledged birth facility with 9 delivery rooms at Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis — unusual for a town of this size.

Doula in Bloemendaal
Bloemendaal is just around the corner from Haarlem and one of the closest places in my service area. So for the appointments before the birth, I can simply come by bike!

Doula in Zaanstad
Zaanstad is about 13 kilometres from Haarlem. Both outpatient births (usually uncomplicated) and clinical births (where you stay the night) take place at Zaans Medisch Centrum (ZMC) in Zaandam.

Doula in The Hague
The Hague is about 42 kilometres from Haarlem — well within my service area, and I’ve guided several births here. Births take place at HMC Westeinde or at HagaZiekenhuis (Leyweg location), among other options.
