Are you experiencing pain, itching, sensitivity, numbness, a pulling sensation or stiffness around your C-section scar? Or would you like to soften the appearance of your scar or reduce the visibility of stretch marks?
During a C-section scar treatment at my practice in Haarlem, we focus specifically on the scar and the surrounding connective and fascial tissue, including areas where adhesions or reduced mobility may have developed.
Whether your C-section was six weeks ago or many years ago, we work with care and attention to support your recovery and help you reconnect with your body.
What can a treatment mean for you?
A C-section scar treatment can contribute to:
- More flexibility and mobility of the scar tissue.
- Less tension and a pulling sensation.
- More comfort while moving or wearing tight clothing.
- Support the blood circulation and collagen production.
- Reducing tissue that feels stiff or adhered.
- Better care and appearance of the skin and the scar.

C-section scar treatment & aftercare advice
Everyone and every scar is different. That’s why we start with an intake, in which we discuss your recovery, birth story, any complaints, and wishes.
Depending on your situation, various techniques may be used, such a deep tissue massage or fascial techniques, cupping, moxa, taping, targeted stretching exercises, and nourishing oils. We always tailor the treatment to what your body needs and what feels comfortable for you.
After the treatment, the area may feel slightly tender or bruised for a while. You will also receive practical advice for home to support your recovery.
When is treatment not possible?
A treatment can take place once the scar is fully closed and sufficiently healed. It is advisable not to treat:
- Within 6 weeks after the C-section.
- When the wound is not yet fully closed.
- In case of scab formation.
- When you have a fever or feel unwell.
Ideally, schedule the treatment when you feel comfortable being touched around the scar area and feel ready to work with the surrounding tissue.
